STOUGHTON, Wis. (WMTV) - With Halloween just days away, if you need a costume fast, Goodwill locations across the state are standing by with budget-friendly options.

Adults will spend an average of $59.29 on costumes in 2026, according to the Halloween and Costume Association.

Goodwill locations across the state have their costume departments stocked for adults, kids and pets. Since items at Goodwill are donated, they are offered at lower prices.

Proceeds from the sale of donated items support Goodwill’s mission of helping people in need find work and housing through programs, while also diverting items from the landfill.

Alexandra Holsclaw, lead marketing communications specialist for Goodwill of South Central Wisconsin Inc., said they are seeing a variety of trending costumes coming from their locations this year.

Holsclaw said 2026 costume trends include:

  • Costumes inspired by “The Devil Wears Prada”
  • Costumes inspired by “The Odyssey”
  • Witches from “Practical Magic”
  • Spider-Man
  • “Toy Story 5” characters
  • “Mario Bros.” characters
  • Superheroes
  • Pun costumes

Goodwill also offers a costume builder website to help you generate ideas. You can try that out here.
