DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - Author and certified grief recovery specialist Jacqueline Werket is holding several presentations across the Northland this week to address the physical toll and warning signs of delayed grief.

Werket, a retired nurse practitioner, lost her toddler son to leukemia in 1971.

After suppressing the loss for a decade, she experienced unexplained body aches and fatigue that medical tests could not explain before recognizing her symptoms stemmed from unprocessed grief.

She detailed her experience in her memoir, “A Grief Postponed: A Nurse Practitioner’s Journey through Delayed Grief.”
