Residents allowed access to properties in Stewart Trail Fire evacuation zones
TWO HARBORS, Minn. (Northern News Now) - Property owners within the evacuation area for the Stewart Trail Fire will be allowed access to their homes Monday afternoon.
Lake County sheriff’s deputies will be escorting residents to their properties between 2 and 5 p.m. Monday.
According to the county, residents must provide proof of residency or property ownership at check-in.
That list includes:
- Driver’s license with matching address
- Property tax statement
- Utility bill
- Other official documentation showing ownership or residency
Check-in for access begins at 1:30 p.m. at the Betty’s Pies parking lot, which is operating as a staging area.
The final escorted entry into the evacuation area will leave at 4 p.m.
On Monday, residents between Stewart River Road and Silver Creek Road are still listed in the “Go” evacuation zone.
As of Monday morning, the Stewart Trail Fire was 355 acres in size and 62% contained.
