Wrenshall School Board Chair Mary Carlson announces run for Minnesota Senate District 11

WRENSHALL, Minn. (Northern News Now) - A Wrenshall school board member is vying for a seat in the Minnesota State Senate.

Mary Carlson announced her candidacy for the Minnesota Senate District 11 seat.

That district covers all of Carlton and Pine Counties, including some of St. Louis.

Carlson is the current Wrenshall School Board Chair and founded an event and designing company.

It’s experience she says has shown her the challenges facing local entrepreneurs and working families. Carlson said her campaign will focus on education, economic opportunity, rural vitality and problem-solving.

Republican State Senator Jason Rarick currently holds this seat. We have asked if he plans to run again but we haven’t heard back.
