SUPERIOR, Wis. (Northern News Now) - From homemade omelets, fluffy pancakes to fresh coffee, The Kitchen has been a community staple in Superior for 75 years.

Art Woodman has been a regular at the restaurant for the last 30 years and says the staff’s camaraderie keeps him coming back year after year.

“You come in having a bad day and they’ll cheer you up with humor and sarcasm,” Woodman said.

For generations, the community connection has run deep.

“Most people have been coming here most of their lives,” said Donna Stallsmith, a waitress at The Kitchen. “We have 80% regulars, we know everything they want. It’s kind of like a little family.”

Owner Ed Flood says being in business for 75 years is no small feat and acknowledges the community support on both sides of the Twin Ports, “this community between Duluth and Superior has been so supportive.”

To celebrate this milestone, The Kitchen is running daily special like 75 cents pancakes and giveaways until Thursday, Dec. 18.

The Kitchen is located at 803 N 5th St, Superior, WI 54880.

It’s open Tuesday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

On Saturday, it’s open from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m.
