DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - The Lake Superior Zoo welcomed two new residents who are the only brother pair of fossae in any North American zoo.

Two fossae brothers, Koto and Majaka, were introduced in a Member Appreciation Day celebration at the Lake Superior Zoo Monday night.

Danny is one of more than 200 animals the Lake Superior Zoo animal care team rescued from SeaQuest in Roseville when they closed due to bankruptcy earlier this year.

Capybaras are the world’s largest rodent and hail from South America. Danny is currently living with the kangaroos and wallabies in LSZ’s Australia building.

Both these new species will be available for the general public to see soon.
