No. 7 UMD shutout by No. 1 Ohio State in first game of road series 3-0

DULUTH, MN. (Northern News Now) - The University of Minnesota Duluth womens hockey team traveled to Columbus, Ohio for a weekend series and lost the first game to top-ranked Ohio State University 3-0.
The Buckeyes used an even-strength goal in each period en route to the victory,
In the second period, Joy Dunne scored her 12th goal of the season which ties teammate Jennifer Gardner for the most on the OSU squad this season.
Raygan Kirk protected the net for OSU with just 14 saves in the shutout.
Sophomore Hailey MacLeod was under fire all night, making 35 saves on the night for UMD.
The Bulldogs and Buckeyes are set to face each other for game 2 of this series tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m. from Columbus.
