Two Harbors honors first responders with ‘Breakfast for Heroes’
TWO HARBORS, Minn. (Northern News Now) - The Lake County Chamber of Commerce hosted a “Breakfast for Heroes” at Superior Shores Resort Monday morning, where first responders were recognized for their service.
County leaders say after a summer of wildfire activity — including May’s Stewart Trail Fire — first responders worked together to protect the community.
“While we did lose structures, we did not lose a life,” said Rich Sve, Lake County Commissioner. “That didn’t happen by accident. That happened because of training, dedication, professionalism and continued coordinated efforts of so many people.”
The event brought together firefighters, law enforcement, linemen and more.
“Knowing everyone from our community and around our community, you know, makes it kind of special,” said Chief Richard Hogenson from Two Harbors Police. “We see each other when the emergencies happen and through our day-to-day lives, but to be able to sit down and have breakfast together is pretty cool.”
“Breakfast for Heroes” is an annual event.
