8 arrested in downtown Duluth enforcement operation, task force says

DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - The Lake Superior Violent Offender Task Force (LSVOTF) arrested eight people during a focused enforcement operation in downtown Duluth, according to a news release Thursday.

The task force said it worked with local and federal law enforcement agencies on the detail, which was prompted by community complaints, investigative information and prior law enforcement activity.

Officials said the operation focused on people suspected of violent offenses, serious criminal activity, outstanding warrants and other conduct contributing to public safety concerns downtown.

The task force also said it prioritized people accused of exploiting vulnerable community members, including people struggling with addiction, through drug sales, threats, violence and other criminal activity.

Those arrested were:

  • Felony 2nd Degree Drug Sales
• 40-year-old Michael Lohman
  • Felony Probation Violation Warrant
• 21-year-old Delaney Dahlberg-Diver
  • 5th Degree Felony Possession
• 35-year-old Colonia Moore
  • 5th Degree Felony Possession
• 20-year-old Jaxen Mohr
  • 5th Degree Felony Possession
• 34-year-old Elijah Guinn Sr
  • DOC Felony Warrant Violation
• 34-year-old Charles Stevens
  • 5th Degree Felony Possession

“Our community has made it clear that public safety in the downtown area is a significant concern, and we are taking those concerns seriously,” said Lieutenant Jason Tanski, Commander of the Lake Superior Violent Offender Task Force.

Tanski said the task force will continue working with law enforcement agencies, social service providers, and community stakeholders to address criminal activity and broader public safety concerns in downtown Duluth.
