International Falls man accused of causing brain damage to infant son
Robert Tupper, 33, faces three felony charges after allegedly squeezing and shaking baby
INTERNATIONAL FALLS, Minn. (Northern News Now) - An International Falls man is accused of causing brain damage to his infant son.
According to a criminal complaint, 33-year-old Robert Tupper told police he got “overstimulated” when the baby was fussy on Sunday.
Tupper allegedly admitted to squeezing the baby’s chest and shaking him for about 30 seconds.
The Sergeant entered the residence and found the baby in a crib. According to the Sergeant, the baby had a pulse, but had a very difficult time breathing and was not crying.
Ambulance staff noticed bruising on the baby’s chest.
Court documents say a doctor determined the baby has several brain bleeds and pronounced brain damage.
Tupper is charged with malicious punishment of a child and two counts of assault.
He is due in court next Monday.
