Trial date set for former State Senator Eichorn after alleged solicitation of a minor
DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - A former Grand Rapids state senator is headed to trial.
Justin Eichorn is accused of soliciting someone he thought was a minor for sex.

He was one of 13 men arrested last March during a sting by Bloomington police.
Now, his case will head to trial on March 30.
Eichorn’s attorneys wanted the federal case dismissed, arguing he was only charged because he was a lawmaker.

A judge rejected that request recently, paving the way for Eichorn’s trial.
The republican resigned from the state senate last year shortly after he was charged.
A judge ordered him to spend time in a Duluth halfway house as his case plays out.
