DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - At 11:00 a.m. on Monday, the Duluth Duo made history by being the first US Team to ever compete in the semi-finals for mixed doubles curling, and winning it.
Korey Dropkin and Cory Thiesse, both from Duluth, won the semi-final round against Italy with a final score of 9-8.
This will be Team USA’s first time competing for the gold medal in mixed-doubles curling.
They will move on to compete for gold on Tuesday at 11 a.m. CT against Sweden.
Dropkin and Thiesse previously played Italy to close out the round robin in a tough match early Monday morning, losing 6 to 7 after a stone-for-stone battle.
