Solvay leaders made that decision, saying the facility relies on Essentia Health nursing staff.

Beginning on Thursday, Solvay Hospice House will reopen and start welcoming residential hospice patients.

Although the nurses’ strike ended, contract discussions between Essentia and some of the entities within the Minnesota Nurses Association are ongoing.

Bargaining went underway Thursday, and with dates also set in mid-August.
