City by City: Marble, Grand Rapids, Cable
Marble, MN- MnDOT is hosting an in-person meeting at the Marble City Hall Monday, September 19 to discuss their Cross Range study that covers 8 miles of Hwy 169. Crews will be evaluating the highway from Taconite to Pengilly and want public feedback on the corridor as well. They are taking a deeper look into how the roadway functions today in order to plan for its future. There will be a virtual option for Monday’s 5 p.m. meeting.
Grand Rapids, MN- The 68th North Star Expo returns Friday, September 16 to the Itasca County Fairgrounds. The two-day event features almost 100 vendors showing the latest technology in logging, trucking and sawmill equipment. The expo not only includes displays but also contests for loggers to show off their skills and knowledge. The North Star Expo runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, September 17.
Cable, WI- One week to go before the 20th Annual Cable Fall Fest! Interested vendors have until September 16, to sign up before a late fee is applied to the registration. The two-day event, held annually on the last weekend in September, is packed with fall fun for the whole family. Friday is a foodies dream with the Fall Harvest Dessert contest, Northwoods fish fry and more. Saturday features the Arts and Crafts Show, a car and motorcycle show, live music and so much more.
