Wednesday soccer in the Northland

DULUTH, MN. (KBJR) - It was a Lake Superior Conference showdown and Public Schools Stadium with the Duluth Denfeld Hunters hosting the Proctor Rails.

The game was scoreless with less than 8 minutes left in the game, but that’s when both teams brought the juice. Denfeld struck twice in a span of a minute to take a 2-0 lead.

The Rails would respond exactly a minute later to cut it back to a one goal game, but it wouldn’t be enough.

The Hunters take down the Rails by a final of 2-1 for the conference victory.

In the collegiate ranks, the UW-Superior Yellowjackets hosted Bethel and picked up a 2-0 victory. It was a slow start for the Jackets, but a goal right before the first half ended helped propel them to the win.
