Wisconsin- The State Patrol’s law of the month for September is a focus on child passenger safety. Each year in Wisconsin, nearly 2,000 children are hurt in crashes. Authorities say it’s important to have a properly installed car seat and follow age and size requirements for that seat.

Hayward, WI- Saturday, September 10 at 11 a.m. the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention will be hosting the Out of the Darkness Northwoods Walk. The walk will take place just south of Hayward in Ojibwa Park. The event aims to unite communities and provide an opportunity to acknowledge the ways suicide and mental health conditions affect people’s everyday life.

Fond du Lac- Water utility upgrades have been underway including a new 60,000-gallon water tower. The improvements now supply 90 households and 500 people with safe drinking water and fire protection. The new water system was designed in a way to provide fire protection where there had previously been none. Through grants and Tribal investment, the total project cost is over $1.2 million. Completion is expected this December.
