Huskies down Stingers, advancing to Northwoods League Championship

DULUTH, MN. (KBJR) - The Duluth Huskies improbable run through the Northwoods League Playoffs continued with a huge win over the Willmar Stingers on Tuesday night.

The Huskies took down the Stingers 5-3 in the Great Plains Championship Game, advancing to their first championship game since 2018 when they fell to the Fon Du Lac Dock Spiders.

Throughout the regular season, the Huskies had previously been 3-6 against the Stingers, and hadn’t won once at Bill Taunton Stadium.

Up next, the Huskies will play the winner of Wisconsin Rapids vs. Kalamazoo for the championship, which will be on either Thursday or Friday, depending on the outcome.
