“The Oregon Trail” leads to Duluth for weekend performances
DULUTH, MN. (KBJR) - Based on the computer game, a Duluth theater company is presenting a hilarious musical that follows a dysfunctional family while they face the weird and wacky trials of the Oregon Trail.
“We originally did this production in 2019,” Performance Director Katie Keller said. “I was the director for that production and this one as well.”
The play is based on The Oregon Trail computer and video game.
“They should expect to see some easter eggs poking fun at that and the different mechanics of the game, but also just this big wacky dysfunctional family road trip in 1848 trying to make it to Oregon,” Keller said.
The audience gets to name all the characters and vote on five different endings to the show.
“It almost feels like you’re going out for a night of improv, so if you are into that definitely you will like this show,” Haley Methner, an actor in the play, said.
There are four more showings of “The Trail to Oregon.”
That is this Thursday and Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 10:30 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m.
Performances take place at Zeitgeist Theater in Downtown Duluth.
