Preview to 7th annual Twin Ports Pro Development Camp
SUPERIOR, WI. (KBJR) - In just over t-minus two weeks, the annual Twin Ports Professional Development Camp will be back in town for its seventh go-round and there will be three Bulldogs skating alongside the youthful campers.
On July 25-28th, UMD’s Gabbie Hughes, Koby Bender, and Ben Patt will be among the familiar faces in assisting the camp. The structure of this experience is meant to simulate what a training and development camp is like for players in their professional careers.
Campers from 10-15 years old are welcome. They will receive lunch, a jersey, and a t-shirt. Those few days also include training and conditioning with current pro hockey players on and off the ice. Former Superior alum and current AHL Portland Penguin Brett Olson says he looks forward to working with the enthusiastic kids once again.
“We’re not trying to rewrite any playbooks out here or anything like that. We’re just trying to give the kids an opportunity to come out and be with guys and girls that have a lot of experience and a lot of knowledge towards the game. We all started out here in the Twin Ports area and we all understand how big of an impact hockey is to the community, so knowing that we were little at some point looking up to guys possibly in our shoes as well. It’s nice to be able to work with kids to see the enthusiasm, youthfulness, and excitement for the game.” said Olson.
Olson adds that they are one week away from finalizing details, so if you would like to register you click here.
