Grand Marais, MN- The Grand Marais Art Colony will be hosting its annual Grand Marais Arts Festival on July 9-10. This year the event coincides with their 75th-anniversary reception. That celebration will be held Saturday night. The Arts Festival itself will be located at Cook County Schools and run all day Saturday and Sunday. Over 80 vendors as well as live music and food trucks will be on the scene.
Iron Range- There are two grants open for small businesses through July 15. The first is the Business Energy Retrofit grant which assists with energy efficiency improvements. These improvements help with reducing utility costs and increased building lifespan. The second grant is the Downtown Building Rehabilitation grant which assists with the costs of code compliance construction and remodeling. Both grants are funded by the IRRRB and Arrowhead Economic Opportunity Agency.
Chisholm, MN- The Citywide Clean-up begins Monday, July 11, and runs through Friday, July 15. The goal is to help everyone get rid of unwanted junk and make the city a little tidier. Everything from mattresses to refrigerators to tires to microwaves-it all goes! Appliances can be dropped off at Precious Paws Humane Society. All other drop-offs can be made directly at the City Garage. There is a small fee for larger items, such as couches, and those payments can be made at City Hall.
