Red Cliff Band elects new tribal leadership

RED CLIFF, WI-- The results are in for the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa’s general election.
On Tuesday, residents traveled to Legendary Waters Resort and Casino to vote for tribal council members and other tribal leaders.
Rick Peterson won Vice-Chairperson with 259 votes.
Nora Cadotte won Tribal Secretary with 249 votes.
The two open seats for the At-Large candidates will be filled by Scott Babineau with 144 votes and Ernie Grooms with 127 votes.
The membership referendum that accepts new members into the band also passed with an overwhelming majority, with 341 voters selecting ‘yes’ on their ballots.
