DULUTH, MN-- c

Duluth Police officers responded to a stabbing on the 600 block of W Superior St. Friday morning shortly after 7:30 a.m.

Officers found Connor Bakk laying on the sidewalk near the bus shelter with multiple injuries including two stab wounds.

Bakk told police who the person was that stabbed him and the weapon used.

After further investigation by police and video footage, they identified the suspect as Thomas Orth, 49.

According to the criminal complaint, officers made contact with Orth at an apartment unit at Gateway Towers.

Police say he opened the door and was cooperative.

There they found blood stains on his pants, a knife on the coffee table and blood on the floor and walls leading out of the apartment.

Police placed Orth into custody without incident.

Bakk was transported for medical treatment and remains in critical condition as of Monday.

Orth has been charged with assault in the first degree and assault in the second degree.
