Wilderness come up short in overtime for playoff opener

FAIRBANKS, AK. (KBJR) - The Minnesota Wilderness journeyed over 3,000 miles to begin their quest for the 2022 Robertson Cup facing off against the top seed, the Fairbanks Ice Dogs.
The Ice Dogs lit the lamp in the first, but it was Wilderness’ Cole Crusberg-Roseen who tied things up in the second frame, 1-1.
In the third period, Minnesota’s William Persson gave the Wilderness the lead, 2-1 until the Ice Dogs tied it up forcing overtime.
In OT, Brendan Miles secured the deal for Fairbanks taking game one in the best-of-five series, 3-2.
