Iron Range man accused of starting fire that killed his pets

BRITT, MN. (KBJR) - A Britt man is behind bars, accused of intentionally setting his house on fire.

Flames broke out just after noon Friday at a home on Donnywood Circle West in Britt.
According to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, a neighbor called 911 when they saw flames coming out of a window.
Firefighters were able to put out the flames quickly, but officials say the home suffered severe fire, smoke and water damage.
No people were hurt, but three cats were found dead inside.
During the investigation, officers say the 51-year-old homeowner made several comments to deputies that ultimately led to his arrest for arson-related charges.
The incident remains under investigation.
