UMD’s Roth, Bender sign professional contracts

DULUTH, MN. (KBJR) - Former UMD fifth-year seniors Kobe Roth and Koby Bender have officially signed professional hockey contracts.

Roth signed an Amateur Tryout Agreement with the Texas Stars, the AHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars. A native of Warroad, Minnesota, Roth played in 176 games while at UMD. He tallied 97 total points and won two national championships as a Bulldog (2018, 2019).

Bender signed an Amateur Tryout Agreement with the Bridgeport Islanders, the AHL affiliate of the New York Islanders. He’s a native of Cloquet, Minnesota who played in 127 games in his five years as a Bulldog.
