2 stabbed during overnight ‘altercation’ at Iron Range bar, 1 person arrested

VIRGINIA, MN-- One person has been arrested in connection to the overnight stabbing that landed two in the hospital Wednesday.
St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Sawmill Saloon in Virginia, MN just after midnight with reports of a fight involving multiple people.
Police say, when they arrived, two people involved in an “altercation” had been stabbed.
They were taken by ambulance to be treated and then released with non-life-threatening injuries.
As officers did further investigating, some involved parties fled the bar before law enforcement arrived.
Later Wednesday morning, around 9:30 a.m. police, arrested a 19-year-old at his residence who they believe is connected to the prior events.
Police also found and seized items at the home associated with the crime.
The 19-year-old was booked into the Virginia Jail.
Formal charges are pending.
