DULUTH, MN. (KBJR) - Earlier in the week goaltender Ryan Fanti was named NCHC goaltender of the year and Fanti sure showed why getting back-to-back shutouts in the NCHC semifinal and final to lead the ‘Dogs to the NCHC Tournament Championship.
Are you serious, @Fanti_29??? 😱🤯🚫

Fanti had some help early with freshman Dominic James lighting the lamp just a few minutes into the contest.
That’s all Fanti needed, but Casey Gilling and Wyatt Kaiser added goals in the second and third period to put the game away and give the Bulldogs the 3-0 win over Western Michigan.
As the five seed, the Bulldogs are the highest seed to ever win the NCHC Tournament Championship and the first to ever win it starting the tournament on the road.
The Bulldogs will find their fate in the NCAA tomorrow.
