Bulldogs beat Northeastern 2-1 in double OT to advance to the National Championship
DULUTH, MN. (KBJR) - In a rematch of last year’s national semifinal, the Bulldogs flipped the script and beat the Northeastern Huskies 2-1 in double overtime to advance to the National Championship game on Sunday.
Led by goaltender Emma Soderberg who had a career-high 46 saves, the Bulldogs tied the game in the third period after a goal by Taylor Anderson, eventually sending the game to overtime.
After a scoreless first overtime, the seniors stepped up, Elizabeth Giguere found Naomi Rogge to send the Bulldogs to the National Championship for the first time since 2010.
The Bulldogs will play the winner between Ohio State and Yale on Sunday, seeking their sixth title in program history.
