Rodgers: “Yes, I will be playing with the Packers next year”

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers confirmed on Twitter Tuesday that he will return to Lambeau Field this season, but he disputed reports of a blockbuster deal.
The four-time NFL MVP tweeted, “Hey everyone, just wanted to clear some things up; YES I will be playing with the @packers next year, however, reports about me signing a contract are inaccurate, as are the supposed terms of the contract I “signed”. I’m very excited to be back 💪🏼 #year18❤️”
NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday morning that Rodgers and the team agreed to terms on a four-year, $200 million deal. The deal as reported by Rapoport would make Rodgers the highest paid player in NFL history. Rapoport reports $153 million is guaranteed.
Those numbers were immediately questioned by Rodgers’ friend Pat McAfee, who said on his show Tuesday that reports of the $200 million deal are “categorically false.” McAfee was first report the news of Rodgers’ return to Green Bay.
Reports say Rodgers considered retirement and a possible move to the Denver Broncos.
The Packers have until 3 p.m. to make a decision when it comes to a franchise tag for star WR Davante Adams. Rapoport says the new salary cap room makes it likely that the Packers will exercise that option for Adams.
