Two in a row from Giguère, makes two in a row for Lady Bulldogs

DULUTH, MN. (KBJR) - The number five ranked Lady Bulldogs were back on the ice Saturday afternoon, seeking to sweep the unranked Mavericks off their skates with another win after their 4-2 victory Friday night.

However, head coach Maura Crowell and company know unfinished business to take care of this afternoon as they enter into the postseason.

UMD took charge right away as Elizabeth Giguere scored the first goal of the day for a 1-0 Bulldog lead.

Giguere was not done; just under two minutes later, in the first, she struck again.

Mankato made it a 2-2 hockey game before the third, but ultimately UMD protects the ‘Dog house sweeping MSU, 5-3.
