DULUTH, MN. (KBJR) - Friday night’s victory came after a stunning performance by goaltender Jojo with the mojo Chobak who showed up and shut out the NCAA’s highest-scoring team in her first career start, shocking the no.2 ranked Buckeyes, handing them their first loss at home.

The Bulldogs have unfinished business in Columbus seeking a big WCHA series sweep Saturday afternoon.

OSU scores the first three of the day.

McKenzie Hewett sent a laser in the third period but wasn’t enough for the series sweep. UMD drops 3-1 while Chobak stood tall, completing the day with 38 career saves in her second career start.

“I liked that we didn’t go away. The third period was our best period. I liked seeing Hewie score that goal, and I thought we had some really good looks on the six on five, but you know we got stuck on our defensive end too much, and that got a ton of energy off of that and just kept coming at us, kept coming at us, so that was a tough game, but again happy for the way Jojo played,” said Crowell.

Bulldogs go to business at home next weekend with Mankato State.
