DULUTH, MN. (KBJR) - In a game that lived up to it’s national hype, UMD came up just short against Minnesota State in game one of their home and home series.
The Mavericks were lifted by Cade Borchardt in overtime, who hauled in a long saucer pass from Brendan Furry to win it with a breakaway goal.
Connor Gregga had MSU’s first goal. Jesse Jacques scored for the Bulldogs.
UMD and MSU will meet for game two of the series on Saturday night at AMSOIL Arena. The game will be live on the My9 Sports Network and NCHC-TV.
