Duluth Fire demonstrates how not to cook your Thanksgiving turkey
DULUTH, MN. (KBJR) -Be very careful with how you plan to cook your Thanksgiving turkey.
That message came from The Duluth Fire Department just days before the holiday.
Monday, they demonstrated how quickly a fire could spark if you don’t defrost your turkey properly and then deep-fry it.
Deputy Fire Marshal Christopher Orman with the DFD shared one major tip to avoid disaster and possible accidents while preparing your meal, make sure you have plenty of time.
“Give yourself some time. Don’t try to rush it because every time you try to rush it, things don’t work out, and then you fall behind; you end up running our the house, and you are leaving all your stuff unoccupied,” said Orman.
According to the department, Thanksgiving is known for having the most cooking fires of any day all across the nation.
